tales of the city.
2015 /// APRAÇA Collective* (São Paulo, Brasil)
How do our mobility choices influence our relationship with the city? This was the triggered question of this project. To think about that from multiple standpoints we invited 10 people/collectives, gave them disposable cameras to take photos during commuting, and did in-depth interviews followed by a collective talk after developing the photos. This research-creative process inspired a zine and a visual art exhibition (at the Cidades a Pé International Seminar and at the Ph.D. Gallery).
APRAÇA was an art-activist collective formed by me and my dear friend Larissa Molina. It was active between 2015 and 2017. In this period, we idealized, organized, and produced considerable projects discussing different aspects of urban life. APRAÇA led us to discover ourselves as artists, multifaceted researchers, and badass creative producers. During these years, we also have the opportunity to work and create with multiple talented artists/activists and inspiring collectives.
