2017 /// APRAÇA Collective* (São Paulo, Brasil)
The Asfalto Zine Special Edition was a milestone for the APRAÇA Collective. It has entangled different research and knowledge journeys. The texts intersect two main themes: the everyday dimension of the right to the city and the insurgent artistic practices. The curatorial/editorial project was awarded a grant from the Edital ProAC (2016) by the State of São Paulo.
3 zines. 3 authors. 3 acts. 1 stencil [usage: a collective noun]. The titles of each volume announce political categories: Uses of the Street, Open Spaces, and Arts of Making the City.
A three-act launch was articulated with collectives of art and activism: Sarau de Cordas (Casa Ecoativa/Imargem), ARRUA, and Virada Política.
APRAÇA was an art-activist collective formed by me and my dear friend Larissa Molina. It was active between 2015 and 2017. In this period, we idealized, organized, and produced considerable projects discussing different aspects of urban life. APRAÇA led us to discover ourselves as artists, multifaceted researchers, and badass creative producers. During these years, we also have the opportunity to work and create with multiple talented artists/activists and inspiring collectives.
